The Green Barn Owner & Professional Pet Groomer / Dog Trainer

Shata is a professional pet groomer, dog trainer and animal lover. She has been grooming for over 10 years and is certified in HRD Search and Rescue. Shata specializes in canine protection, discipline / obedience and search & rescue training.

Growing up, Shata had many pets, but she fell in love with the German Shepherd and Belgian Malinois breeds. She is currently a loving pet mother to seven cats, seven dogs, seven horses, many egg producing chickens & ducks and four Nigerian dwarf goats. As a pet lover, she always enjoys seeing the four-legged guests visit her and seeing their warm reunions with their pet parents after a day of grooming, daycare or a long boarding stay.

Shata was born and raised in Madison, Alabama on the family farm she and her husband, Eric now own. She is a lover of all animals and enjoys spending time with her SARTEC family doing search & rescue training, aiding others with her search knowledge, and spending time with her family and friends who stop by The Green Barn!

The Green Barn Operations Manager & Pet Bather

Following her 30+ years career as a successful executive in the dynamic information technology sector, Sheila is enthusiastically embarking on a new career path as Operations Manager / Pet Bather for The Green Barn as she supports her sister, Shata, in fulfilling her dream of owning her own pet grooming business.

Sheila’s passion is serving others and her community through volunteer work. She dedicates her time distributing food to families in need and participates in food assistance programs with House of the Harvest, Legacy Center and Madison City Schools, to name a few. Sheila is also an active member of Monrovia Church of Christ.

Although Sheila was born in Chicago, IL, she was raised on the family farm that Shata and her husband, Eric now own. Growing up, Sheila helped raise many pets of all kinds, but currently, she is a loving pet mother to a four pound, Yorkie named “Tucker”. Sheila and her husband, Johnny are proud parents to their son, Corey, daughter-in-law, Britney and ecstatic grandparents, to grand-daughter, Lillian.
